Captive Bird Rescue, Adoption, Sanctuary & Care Education Our Services

Our Services

Captive Bird Care Education Services

Education is crucial to successful captive bird care, and the lack of education is the majority of bird homelessness. In order to prepare people to live life with a bird, and to help people overcome temporary stumbling blocks in their relationships with their birds, MAARS offers consultations and classes.

Captive Bird Surrender Services

If a bird's caretaker's life changes and he/she can no longer care properly for a their bird, he/she may choose to surrender the bird to MAARS.

Captive Bird Rescue Services

Unfortunately, MAARS must occasionally rescue birds that have been neglected, abused, abandoned, injured, or malnourished.

Bird Adoption Services

Adoption into qualified, non-breeding homes is the preferred option for most parrots and other captive birds. We assess prospective adopters for their ability to provide patience, quality care, stability, and love.

Captive Bird Sanctuary Placement Services

In some instances it is not appropriate or desirable to place a bird into a private home. In these cases, sanctuary placement insures a permanent, stable, safe, life-long home. MAARS currently collaborates with existing organizations to provide this type of setting in special cases.
